Who we are

mimic-mock.app is run by DEVXA LTD, a company registered in England and Wales with number 10238230. DEVXA LTD is the controller of the data described here. Write to mimicmock.app@gmail.com with any question about it.

Basic analytics, always on

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. For each view it records the page, the site that linked to it, any campaign tags in the link, your country, and your browser, operating system and device type. Views of the download page tell us how often Mimic is downloaded.

It does not use cookies and does not store anything on your device. It tells one visit from another by a hash of the request that changes every day, so it cannot follow you from one day to the next or across other websites. We cannot see who you are and do not try to.

Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful and how often Mimic is downloaded. Because the counts cannot identify you, we consider the effect on your privacy minimal. You can object by writing to us, or block the collection with a content blocker.

Advanced analytics, with your permission

If you choose Allow advanced, we also use Vercel Speed Insights to measure how quickly each page loads and responds on your device: timings such as how long the main content took to appear, with your device type, browser and connection speed. It helps us keep the site fast. It also sets no cookies and does not identify you.

Our legal basis is your consent. If you choose Basic only, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the Speed Insights script is never loaded and nothing is sent.

What the site stores in your browser

  • Your analytics choice, so we do not ask on every page. It is kept for 180 days, then we ask again.
  • Your theme, light or dark, but only if you press the theme button.

Both stay in your browser's local storage and are never sent to us. They are needed for things you asked for, so they do not need consent.

Who else is involved

  • Vercel Inc. hosts the site and runs both levels of analytics. Like any web host, its servers handle your IP address to deliver pages and keep the service secure. Vercel processes data for us under its data processing agreement, which covers transfers outside the UK and EU.
  • GitHub serves the installer when you download Mimic, and X hosts our account. Following a link to either takes you to their site, under their own privacy policy.

The site loads no fonts, scripts or embeds from anyone else, and we do not sell or share data with advertisers.

How long we keep it

Analytics are kept as counts in our Vercel dashboard and are not linked to any person. Vercel deletes them when our plan's retention period ends.

Your choices and rights

You can switch advanced analytics on or off at any time: . It is also at the bottom of every page.

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete data about you, object to its use, or withdraw consent. Because the analytics cannot identify you, we usually hold nothing we could link to you, but write to us and we will check. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

The Mimic app

This notice covers the website. The Mimic app runs on your Mac, keeps your projects there, and sends no analytics. It contacts GitHub to check for new releases, about once a day unless you turn that off in its settings.
